Pictures taken on a cold and frosty morning, of the foals with their yak coats on! They were a lot warmer than me!

Picture below of Valerock Velvet taken today at Pennine Riding club show.
Velvet won the M and M large breeds and then went on to take ridden champion, well done to Bree, who rode her beautifully.
So proud of Velvet, she is such a good girl!

Valerock Velvet has had a change of job from being a brood mare, to becoming a ridden pony! Only backed a few months ago at 8 years old, she has taken to it extremely well. We took her to the NCPA lancs show yesterday and she was 3rd in a big class of novices, absolutely delighted with her.
Velvet is being ridden for me by Bree Duckworth and she has done a wonderful job of backing her, what a difference from the wild pony I sent to her!! They make a great team, can't wait till next season now.

This picture is of Drum at HOYS this year, he did very well and was placed 8th. Ridden by Sue-Helen Shuttleworth.
Drum has now been sold and has been at his new home for a week now,
he is one lucky pony and has the most fabulous home, with lovely owners. He will be missed here, but he is related to most of my mares now and I had to make the very hard decicion to find him a new home.

The photo below is of Valerock Celtic Pride (Sammy) at his lovely new home in Cheshire. We delivered him yesterday and as per usual he took everything in his stride. I will miss him, he is such a lovely character, but I'm so pleased that he has a great home with Caroline and her family. Wishing them all the best for their future together.

We were honered to be invited to be part of Trawden, our local agricultural shows, working heavy horse parade, it was great. There were ridden heavy horses, driven shetlands, ponies with panniers, Drum especially liked the pony carrying hay that was stood next to him, he was dying to steal a mouth full! Poor starving highland that he is.
Wanted to thank Alice Moore for riding Drum for me, she did a brilliant job.

Drumochter has just qualified for Hoys at North of England, only his second show of the year. Absolutely delighted with him,and he took reserve champion in the Hoys M and M championship.
That also meant that he qualified for the Torne Valley and he was fourth in that too, what a fantastic day for us.
Have to say a big thankyou to Vicky Smith for riding him for us, unfortunately Sue-Helen Shuttleworth his rider was in another class and they clashed, so Vicky stepped in and rode him, amazing to say that she had never sat on him before!

Molly has foaled, a colt by Drumochter. He is huge and very beautiful.
Molly is very foal proud with this one, hardly suprising considering that he was stolen by another mare. I looked out of the window and saw a new foal with a mare that already had one, he was happily suckling from her eek! Panic set in then wondering what had happened to Molly. Molly was over the far side of the field. She was fine, and we reunited them and all was well. These things are sent to try me.
Thats foaling over for this year, thanks goodness!
Here are pics of the new baby.
This foal has now been sold, the interest in this young man has been immense
he is going to a lovely showing home where he will be kept entire.
Other foals are available for sale by Drumochter.

Ruby foaled on Friday, in the middle of the afternoon it was a nice surprise when I went to empty my wheelbarrow and there was the foal up and drinking. She has had a colt he is beautiful and very strong, he is sired by Blairgowrie.

We had a nice surprise whilst we were in Scotland at the Royal Highland Show. Hobcroft Blossom had a colt foal in the early hours of Saturday, in the pouring rain and floods, 10 days early, in spite of that everything is fine with them both!
This one is by Drumochter.
Here are pics of our new baby.

Introducing our latest little addition. This is Bryony of Combebank's colt foal sired by Drumochter.
He was born in the early hours of Wednesday, everything was fine with them both. The following morning I had one very sick foal, I really thought we were going to loose the poor little mite.
The vet came and gave him Plasma and anti-biotics, must have been because Bryony had run milk for a few days before and he hadn't had enough colostrum. Later that evening he was much worse and I had to get him up, but bless him he was a little fighter and managed to suckle.
I got him up every hour or so and he drank. Thankfully he then seemed to rally round and got himself up and was suckling fine phew!!
So here are the first pics of my little brave heart, bunking round, which I am so pleased to see.

This picture is of April O'Noth kindly sent to me from Jill Munro, April's breeder. Winning supreme champion at Strathbogie Farmers Horse Show. Congratulations Jill!
April is sired by our late stallion North Wells Summit, it is so nice to see his stock doing so well.

Last weekend we took Drum to his first show of the season, it was NPS area 5 and a HOYS qualifier. The weather was dreadful torrential rain and freezing cold. He was a star as usual, beautifully ridden by Sue-Helen Shuttleworth, he went really well even in the monsoon! He was placed 10th in a huge class. Looking forward to his next outing.

This is a pic of Drum when he got home from the show and the poor boy had a visiting mare waiting for him. All he could do was have a well deserved lie down!

This is our latest new arrival born 19th April,
a filly out of Pabbaydene by Blairgowrie.
She is just lovely and very cheeky, poor Pabbay is being kept on her toes running around after her!
